February campaigns: celebrating Aotearoa’s LGBTQIA+ writers

To celebrate Auckland Pride, The Coalition for Books and Kete published a reading list from samesame but different festival Chair Simie Simpson tying into our campaign to promote and showcase books by writers from LGBTQIA+ communities in Aotearoa.

Artwork for this campaign was created by Pounamu Wharekawa and included a banner element and square tiles to use as backgrounds for the titles highlighted in Simie’s editorial ‘we’re all in this together’.

A social media campaign with stories and boosted social posts ran during samesame but different festival and throughout the subsequent week and the Kete home page ran the banner designed by Pounamu Wharekawa as a page header throughout February.
