Pasifika Books 2025 — catalogue submissions close 19 December

Our Pasifika Books campaign is a celebration of new and recent books by Aotearoa’s Pasifika authors and this coming year we are excited to extend this annual campaign. 

As in 2024, we will produce a printed catalogue to showcase books by Pasifika authors and distribute this through schools, libraries, bookshops and at Auckland’s Pasifika Festival. 

In 2025 we will also celebrate Pasifika books and authors in a dedicated two-week period on Kete Books. From 3 to 16 March, Kete will be joined by a Pasifika guest editor and the site will be dedicated to reviews and features highlighting books by Aotearoa’s Pasifika authors. 

We will again host a physical presence to sell books at Auckland’s Pasifika Festival on 8 & 9 March, taking the catalogue and the books in it to audiences of Pasifika readers outside the usual bookshop and library settings.

More about the catalogue:

  • Print: double-sided colour A4 fliers, folded to A5 containing approximately 40 Pasifika Aotearoa New Zealand authored titles, loosely split titles between adult fiction/non-fiction and children’s books. Note the format may be extended to reflect the number of titles submitted and accepted for the catalogue.

  • Printed copies distributed at Auckland’s Pasifika Festival alongside copies of featured books for sale at Coalition hosted book stand 8 & 9 March 2025 (Pasifika typically attracts 60,000 visitors) 

  • Bundles of 100 offered to bookshops and select libraries

  • Digital: digital edition with clickable links to book product to be promoted via Kete Books and Kete’s social channels and on Book Hub in Partnership with Booksellers Aotearoa

  • Compilations made available to librarians/school librarians on home page of Wheelers website for ease of ordering
