What’s new on Kete?
Kete is dedicated to promoting Aotearoa New Zealand books. This year, we’ve published just under sixty reviews, extracts and interviews on the site since January 1. At the beginning of May, our weekly Nielsen BookScan Bestsellers List was joined by the new monthly Aotearoa Children’s Junior Fiction and YA Bestseller List (more here).
The Kete calendar/maramataka has also been updated for 2023 – but we’d love your input. Send us your book events – and if they’re already listed, do let us know if there’s additional detail you’d like included (drop us a line here).
We’ve seen 20 percent growth in Kete newsletter subscribers, and in unique visitors to the site for the January to May period, compared to 2022. This is good, incremental progress and our aim is to grow more – and more. The platform rebuild planned for later this year and into 2024, funded through Manatū Taonga, will play an important part in this, but we’re still very focused on creating engaging content that supports Aotearoa NZ books and attracts readers to Kete in the interim.
